Corona virus hit, last year the number of passengers on domestic flights decreased by 56%

The number of passengers on domestic flights has fallen drastically in the last year ie 2020. According to information launched on Friday by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the number of passengers on domestic flights in 2020 decreased by 56.29 % to six.3 crore passengers compared to 2019. The regulator stated that the corona virus epidemic continues to have an effect on the Indian aviation sector. Only 73.27 lakh passengers traveled by domestic flights in December, which is 43.72 % lower than in December 2019. Last year, 3.25 crore individuals traveled by IndiGo flights. IndiGo had a market share of 51.7 % in the domestic aviation market. SpiceJet carried 93.9 lakh passengers and 14.9 % market share.

According to the information, Air India last year carried 69.32 lakh passengers, Go Air 54.38 lakh, AirAsia India 43.87 lakh and Vistaar 39.39 lakh passengers to their locations. The ticket reserving or load issue of six main airways in December 2020 was 65.1 to 78 %. The DGCA stated that passenger ticket bookings declined in December in comparison with the earlier month. The motive for that is the finish of the vacationer season. SpiceJet bookings have been the highest at 78 %. Domestic flight providers resumed in India on May 25 after a spot of two months attributable to Corona virus. Airlines are allowed to e book a most of 80 % of their tickets at pre-Kovid-19 ranges.

Guidelines issued for carrying items to the passenger compartment

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday issued pointers for aviation firms that wish to carry items to the passenger compartment of the plane. The regulator acknowledged in its pointers that operators wishing to hold items to the passenger compartment should submit an utility to the DGCA not less than 10 days earlier than the proposed operation. It states that the items shouldn’t exceed 22.5 kg per one seat house and whether it is the similar merchandise for holding three seats, it shouldn’t weigh greater than 50 kg. The pointers state that the top of the items shouldn’t exceed the top of the seat. The weight of the items to be saved underneath the seats shouldn’t exceed 9 kilograms per seat.
