What is KVPY Exam? Kishor Sansik Incentive Scheme (KVPY) is a scholarship program funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. KVPY's Fulform is the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, which is to attract extraordinarily motivated students to pursue basic science courses and research career in science. Eligibility test is done to identify talents.

The last date for registration of KVPY for the year 2019 is 20 August 2019, for which admission letters have been issued 30 days before the date of examination. Examinations occur temporarily in the month of November every year.
What are the important dates related to KVPY registration that a student should remember? KVPY registration usually begins every year in the month of July / August and the exam is conducted in the month of November, for which admit cards are issued by the month of October.

Since the KVPY Written Examination is a qualifying examination, there is no fixed course for examination. The objective of the written examination is to test the student's understanding and analytical ability (in 2016 only in online mode). Students class Tenth / XII / BSc / B.S. / B.Stat / B.Math. / Int. MMSc. / M.S. is tested for the first year course. /
KVPY Selection Process: IISc will conduct Aptitude Test for KVPY at different centers of the country so that the applications can be displayed. On the basis of performance in the Aptitude Test, short-listed students are called for an interview which is the final step of the selection process.
To obtain a KVPY scholarship or fellowship, both qualification exams and interview points are considered.
The merit list is based on 25% weightage for points of interview in 75% weightage and stream SA, SB and SX for the number of Aptitude Test.
What are SA, SB, and SX in KVPY?
Since graduate first year students in class XI, Class XII and Basic Science are eligible to apply for KVPY, the test is divided into three streams:
- There are students in the stream SA who are in Class XI during the academic year, in which KVPY is organized. They must give SA test.
- There are students in the stream SX that are in class XII class during the academic year, in which KVPY is organized. They have to give SX / SB test.
- There are students in the stream SB who are in the first year of graduation program in Basic Sciences while conducting KVPY during the academic year. They will have to give SX / SB test.
